As a special 2nd anniversary gift to ourselves, Cardboard and I are renting a quaint cottage near the beach in New Buffalo, Michigan with a few friends. There will be games, lots of Bell's, some maxin' and relaxin', antiquing, ice cream eating, and lots and lots of fun. We cannot wait!!!But we haven't forgotten about our loyal and faithful readers! We had such a blast with our birthday sweepstakes last year, we thought we'd doing something similar again. This year we will purchase a very special prize while we're away in Michigan. Maybe we'll find a killer vintage piece or maybe we'll just buy a boob mug that reads "New Buffalo" across the tots. You never know with us; that's why we're fun!!!

Dear Design Boner,
how are you? I am fine. I am, really--it's a lovely night and I just watched some Ghostbusters on Telemundo--did you know they don't make any effort at all to hire Spanish voiceover actors whose voices resemble the original actors in a film that's being overdubbed? I'll bet you did. I digress. I want to wish you a very very happy second anniversary, because I think you're great. Is the prize for posting really a breast-themed mug? Because I heard it might be coffee and smokes.
Not that the prize matters as such. You know what else would make a great prize? Fish sticks. Because everyone loves them, or did when they were children--and it wouldn't matter what brand of fish sticks ended up being the prize, because they all have some sort of cartoon fisherman on the box.
Baseball caps also make good prizes, especially if they have humorous statements on them, or, for that matter, a Design Boner logo on them--Design Boner-themed fingerless gloves would also be nice, because everyone needs gloves, but fingerless gloves, whoa. That says "rebel," and "nonconformist," and "Judd Nelson," and a whole lot more.
But some items don't make great prizes: fingerpaints, toe-rings, John Tesh DVDs. God! Between watching that Telemundo Ghostbusters thing, I saw a John Tesh Christianmusical presentation, and it was so obscenely bad. And on top of this superbad music, and Mr. Tesh himself sort of waving his arms and grinning at his piano, there were ballet dancers and break dancers and hundreds of singers, and it was very very bad indeed--so if you were to present a DVD of this performance, I wouldn't like it very much as a gift.
Not that I would dictate what the prize should be. The choice is yours. Anyway, very happy anniversary. You're really great.

I remember the day I turned two....putting out my candles with the palm of my hand.... eating cake...ice cream...vomiting up all over uncle tom's new wingtips.....then taking a nice long nap. Ah yes...those were the days.
